Celebrate Halloween Across the Most Magical (and Spookiest) Destinations

There's something truly special about Halloween at the theme parks and at sea—where immersive storytelling, festive treats, and unforgettable entertainment come together in ways you simply can't experience anywhere else. Whether you're dreaming of kid-friendly fun or spine-tingling thrills, these destinations deliver Halloween magic in their own unique ways.

Let's explore how you can celebrate the season with Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, and Disney Cruise Line.

Walt Disney World: Not-So-Scary Fun for the Whole Family

At Magic Kingdom, Halloween transforms into a family-friendly celebration during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

The party runs from 7:00 PM to midnight on select nights, and here's a great perk — guests with party tickets can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM, giving you up to 8 hours to celebrate across the park. ***Announced today*** - The 2026 season runs on select nights from August 7 through October 31.

This special ticketed event offers:

  • Trick-or-treating throughout the park (yes, adults too!)

  • The beloved "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade

  • Spellbinding fireworks and the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

  • Rare character meet-and-greets in costume — including Jack Sparrow, Jack Skellington, and Sally, who don't regularly appear in the parks

  • Themed overlays on attractions like Space Mountain and Mad Tea Party

WWJ Ticket tip:  2026 dates go on sale May 5th for guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels and May 12th for all other guests! Every single date has sold out for the last two years, and Halloween night itself has sold out as early as May, so don't wait!

Perfect for families who want festive fun without the fright.

Disneyland: A Spooktacular Party with Villainous Flair

On the West Coast, Halloween shines at Disney California Adventure Park during the wildly popular Oogie Boogie Bash.

The party returns on select nights from August 18 to October 31, 2026. It runs from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and your ticket also includes park admission as early as 3:00 PM.

Highlights include:

  • Immersive villain-themed treat trails — kids can collect treats at multiple trails, with villains and legendary misfits lurking along the way

  • The electrifying Frightfully Fun Parade (featuring the Headless Horseman!)

  • Villains Grove at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail — a walkthrough of surreal scenescapes inspired by iconic Disney Villains, with mystical lights, sights, and sounds

  • Incredible seasonal décor across both parks

  • Unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos captured during the party

WWJ Ticket tip: Ticket pricing for 2026 hasn't been confirmed yet, but Disney is offering a record 33 nights in 2026 to meet demand. This event has sold out every single year, so be ready to move fast when tickets go on sale.

A slightly edgier Disney Halloween experience — with plenty of magic still intact.

Universal Orlando: Halloween Horror Nights

If you're ready to turn up the intensity, Universal Studios Florida hosts the legendary Halloween Horror Nights.

Halloween Horror Nights turns 35 in 2026, running on select nights from August 28 to November 1. This is the milestone anniversary year, and Universal is going all out.

This after-hours event is not for the faint of heart:

  • 10 all-new haunted houses, expansive scare zones, live entertainment, and themed food and drinks

  • The theme for 2026 is "Infernal Carnival of Nightmares," hosted by iconic scream legends Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow — joined together for the first time ever

  • Scare zones filled with roaming creatures and ornate street sets

  • A truly immersive, adrenaline-pumping atmosphere

WWJ Ticket tip: An Express Pass (to skip the long lines) is a smart add-on if you're only going once. Note: Universal strongly advises this event is best for those ages 13 and up.

Best suited for teens and adults looking for a true Halloween thrill.

Disney Cruise Line: Halloween on the High Seas

Prefer your Halloween with ocean breezes? A sailing with Disney Cruise Line during Halloween on the High Seas is pure magic.

In 2026, you can choose from 3 to 7-night Bahamian or Caribbean cruises departing from Port Canaveral or Fort Lauderdale on the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, or Disney Destiny — or 3 to 7-night Baja and Mexican Riviera cruises on the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic, out of San Diego. Many itineraries include a stop at Disney's private islands — Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

Onboard you'll find:

  • The iconic pumpkin tree that "grows" in the ship's atrium — be in the Grand Hall early on night one to catch the enchanting story as it comes to life

  • Mickey's Mouse-querade Party — a costume party with music, dancing, and Disney characters in Halloween attire

  • A fan-favorite Sanderson Sisters meet-and-greet, featuring Minnie as Winifred, Daisy as Sarah, and Clarabelle as Mary

  • Trick-or-treating, spooky storytelling, themed treats, and Halloween movie screenings

  • Almost all Halloween activities are included in your cruise fare — the themed entertainment, movies, stage shows, and decorations are all part of the package

WWJ tip: Many guests pair a Disney Cruise with a few days at Walt Disney World for a "land and sea" vacation — sailing on a Halloween cruise and then heading to the parks for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Also worth noting: Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026, making it an especially magical time to be at sea or in the parks!

A relaxed, festive way to celebrate — perfect for families and multi-generational trips.
